Fasten your car seat belt in HUSH: They can hear by pressing B after entering a vehicle. Buckling up prevents your character from flying through the windshield during collisions, avoiding fatal fall damage or bleeding out while escaping sound-hunting monsters.

How the Car Seat Belt Protects Drivers

Vehicles provide rapid transport across town, but they carry severe physical hazards if handled carelessly. After players hotwire cars and press F to enter the driver seat, pressing B fastens the seat belt.

Neglecting this command leaves the driver unsecured. In the gameplay video titled "ROBLOX HUSH THEY CAN HEAR...", an unbuckled driver crashed at high speed and was launched through the front window onto the pavement. The impact caused immediate heavy trauma, forcing the player into a downed bleed-out state while team members scrambled to apply bandages. Fastening the seat belt keeps your character firmly inside the cabin, preventing sudden ejection whenever the car hits obstacles, clips curbs, or takes high-speed impacts.

Complete Vehicle Controls and Actions

Getting behind the wheel alters standard PC key mappings. Keys that control on-foot gear rebind to automotive functions the moment your character sits inside.

Vehicle ActionPC KeyConsequence and Risk
Fasten seat beltBSecures your survivor in the cabin to stop crash ejections.
Enter or exit carFSteps into or out of the vehicle; bailing while moving drains HP.
Drift vehicleShiftInitiates a car drift around tight street corners.
Toggle wipersGActivates windshield wipers across glass surfaces.
Sound car hornHTriggers a loud car horn that attracts nearby threats.

Exiting uses the F key, the same key used to enter. Stepping out requires bringing the vehicle to a full stop. Jumping out while the vehicle remains in motion triggers an instant red damage flash across the screen, dropping player health and creating vulnerability before you can reach safety.

Engine Volume and Monster Attraction

Driving is the loudest activity documented in the game. According to recorded session testing, the loudness meter in the bottom-left corner of the interface measures roughly 81 dB while driving a vehicle. In comparison, walking on foot registers around 52 dB, and crouching indoors registers approximately 33 dB.

Because hostile monsters track players through sound, an 81 dB vehicle alerts nearby creatures across a wide radius. If an unbuckled driver crashes and flies onto the street, the combination of engine noise and physical impact leaves the survivor stranded directly in the path of incoming enemies. Understanding these sound mechanics makes fastening the seat belt an automatic requirement before stepping on the gas. Buckling up keeps you in control of the vehicle so you can reposition, slow down safely, and dismount without taking unnecessary impact trauma.
